The Wire Saw Trap is a trap from the Saw franchise, appearing in Saw X.
Design and Function[]
The trap consists of a box next to the victim while the contraption was one of factory's machinery that was built with a sliding carriage fenced with a Gigli wire saw around the victim's neck. The box contains a second saw connected to a metal pin that will activate a three-minute timer, and a suction machine which the victim has to use to cut off their leg, which has marker lines on it indicating where to cut, in order to save themself and then use the device to extract the victim's bone marrow transferred to a gauge connected to a scale that will weigh 3 ounces and drain their blood into a beaker. Once enough marrow is collected, the victim is set free. If the victim does not complete the trap, the saw will move and proceed to decapitate them.

The victim of this trap is Valentina. She was a con artist working with Cecilia Pederson, scamming 34 victims, including John Kramer, which caused her to be placed into the trap. Along with her employer and fellow associates; Mateo and Gabriela, Valentina is abducted by John's apprentice Amanda Young and was taken back to the chemical plant where the group held the false operation. John presented a box containing the saw to Valentina's confusion while Amanda activates the carriage. John gave Valentina a brief history about the saw for it's usage during her trap. Amanda drives the carriage closer to Valentina who unwittingly grabs the saw that cuts both her hands. They instructed to her to sever her leg marked from it's indication, much to Valentina's shock who was warned that the saw will move closer into her neck, cutting her head off. To survive, John instructs her to extract three ounces of the bone marrow from her femur to deactivate her trap but she must make haste in her given time limit.
As John and Amanda enter the office to oversee the games; Valentina, pressured by Cecilia and the others despite her objections, took the test but she indirectly pulls the wire saw from the box which started the timer with only three minutes. Alarmed by the time, Valentina attempts to escape her trap but was guided by the group to proceed cutting her leg. Constricted with a tourniquet around the marking, Valentina hesitantly took the first cut with the saw. Grunting through the pain, the group encourage her to push through as she quickly slices through her flesh further close to the bone to saw the leg off. Cecilia urges her to hurry as Valentina was able to cut the bone and slice the flesh upward, finally severing her leg. Afterwards, Valentina took the extractor to push through the needle into the bone and activate to suction the marrow into the gauge. But unfortunately with only fifteen seconds left, Valentina panics as she knows it was too late when the extractor slowly collects her marrow in nearly 2.5 ounces. Ultimately, the timer expires as the carriage slowly cuts through Valentina's neck with the wire saw, decapitating her in front of the other trapped victims as her corpse slumps onto the floor and lands to Cecilia's side.
