All of you. You promised dying people... DYING people. That you could save their lives.
— John Kramer showing disgust at the Pederson Project.

The Pederson Project is a group from the Saw franchise, as well as the main antagonistic faction of Saw X.

History[]

The Pederson Project was a program seemingly comprised of a small group performing an experimental procedure that included surgery to cure people of mortal illnesses and diseases for large sums of two separate payments. The project is first mentioned in Saw VI, as an experimental therapy developed by Finn Pederson, a Norwegian doctor. Although John Kramer attempted to convince William Easton and Umbrella Health to cover the cost of the treatment, his request was hopelessly rejected.

It involved a group of experts that took their victim patients into an isolated area outside of U.S. jurisdiction. After the procedure is finished, the patient is then required a special medication for the next week. However, in reality, the entire program was nothing more than a scam concocted by Cecilia Pederson, using the reputation of her father, Dr. Finn Pederson, and talks about his still-in-development research on the new cancer curing method.

Cecilia and her fellow con artists set up a very elaborate display, tricking the sick and desperate with false hopes and leaving the program under the belief that they had actually been cured when in reality they did nothing but use anesthesia and fake bandages. They also ensnared people to join their program while also having associates pretend to be ill themselves and then appear with fake scars to show off the "miracle cure" to their victim patient.

At some point, the con men running the operation also scammed John Kramer, tricking him as well into believing he was cured of his brain cancer. John would soon learn the truth of their deception after finding leftover evidence in the abandoned operating room and on his head. From there, with the help of Amanda Young and Mark Hoffman, John kidnapped the team and brought them to play his games in the same facility they falsified his surgery, strapping each of them to a different trap. When confronting his victim about how she and her team lied, he held up medical records which mentioned that there were 34 other people before him said to have been "cured", two of which seemingly were Gabriela and Henry.
