The Soap Factory is a fictional location from the Saw franchise, appearing in Spiral.
Layout and Structure[]
The Soap factory is large building with many rooms and floors. Outside the building near the entrance there is multiple pipes and ladders. On the bottom floor there is a disposal room with a large scrap shredder with two chutes cut out in the front and a set of fans at the back, with a conveyor to deliver bottles to the shredder. Further inside there is a spiral staircase leading to the second floor. On the second floor there is multiple windows that can be opened, after the first room there is a sliding door leading to the second room which has a working elevator and a staircase leading to the roof.
History[]
Marcus Banks Abduction[]
Marcus is abducted by William
Marcus Banks received a text from his son's phone that said to meet up with him on an old soap factory on 11th, in reality this text was sent by William Schenk, who was the killer all along. Once Marcus arrived at the factory, he started to look around the place with both his gun and a flashlight, there he found a wall that had written the word "Do you want to play a game Chief Banks?". As Marcus went deeper into the factory, he eventually found a room with a typewriter and a puppet, just as he started to send a text about his findings he was abducted by William. Zeke learns that his father, Marcus Banks, is officially missing as no one can locate him. Detective O'Brien suspects that Marcus is working with the copycat killer. Zeke is ultimately abducted by the copycat killer. (Spiral)
Ezekiel Banks Trial[]
Zeke considers sawing off his hand
The victim of this trap was Ezekiel Banks. This trap is similar to the Bathroom Trap, but instead of the victim having their leg chained, their hand is chained instead. Zeke awakens in a warehouse handcuffed to a pipe. In order for Zeke to escape, he must cut off their hand with a hacksaw. He sees a hacksaw nearby and considers the option of sawing off his arm. However, a bobby pin was conveniently placed near him, so he was able to escape the trap without harm. (Spiral)
second Test[]
Zeke finds his next test
As Zeke navigates his escape, he encounters Peter Dunleavy, his former partner who Banks reported for murder, chained in place. Ezekiel Banks's second test is to save his ex-partner, Peter Dunleavy, the victim of the Glass Grinder trap, a machine hurls crushed shards of glass at him. Banks is horrified to find a tape recorder that give him a choice to either save Dunleavy or let him die for his crimes. Ezekiel Banks's second test is to save his ex-partner, Peter Dunleavy, the victim of the Glass Grinder trap. If Ezekiel seeks to release him, he must find the key to the chain. However, Ezekiel is supposed to not save him, in order for justice to be enacted. If he does not find the key, his ex-partner will die. Ezekiel ended up trying to save Peter anyway, however Peter succumbed to his wounds despite Ezekiel's effort. (Spiral)
Third Test[]
Zeke finds William
Zeke moves to another room in the maze, to find William Schenk. Zeke is confused for a moment before realizing that Schenk faked his death, having used the skinned corpse of Benny Wrights to do so. Schenk had been the copycat Jigsaw Killer all along, as he sought justice for his murdered father. Peter Dunleavy had murdered Schenk's father, who was willing to testify against a dirty cop. Marcus Bank was responsible for the polices that enabled the corruption to occur, which resulted in Schenk's father dying. Ezekiel Banks's third test is to choose whether he will help target cops with William Schenk. However, it does not matter what he chooses, he will go to the last test but after the final test, there will be a difference result based on his choice. Ezekiel pretends to accept William's offer to find his father, and William takes him to his next test. (Spiral)
Final Test[]
He presents Banks with a final test; shoot a target that will free Marcus from certain death but allows Schenk to escape, or kill Schenk and let Marcus die. Banks examines his options while holding his fathers gun, which holds a single bullet. His father, Marcus Banks, who is attached to a trap that slowly drains his blood via an IV drip. Ezekiel then given the choice by William Schenk, the Jigsaw killer in question to either shoot a target to free Marcus, but allows William to escape. Or he could kill Schenk, but also letting Marcus died due to blood loss. William also mentioned that he had called SWAT team before hands to free him. Unable to lose his father, Banks shoots the target to free Marcus. (Spiral)
Police Raid[]
The SWAT officer cutting down the door
After Marcus was released, he told Ezekiel to go after William, when his son started beating the killer, an arriving SWAT team were making their way up the stairs. When the Swat team found the door of the room they were in and started cutting it down while Zeke was beating Will. When the SWAT team finally kicked down the door, they held Ezekiel at gunpoint due to his hostile actions against William while the trap moved Marcus to its final phase.
Marcus body was raised by the harness, several search lights turned on behind him and a shotgun become affixed to his right hand by a mechanism, which latter raised forward. The SWAT team, believing that Marcus is attempting to shoot them, immediately barrages him with bullets until he was dead, much to Ezekiel's terror.
Marcus is shot by the SWAT team
Unbeknownst to the SWAT team, William safely escapes and descending with the cargo elevator. As Ezekiel helplessly watched, William signaling him to stay quiet, ironically mimicking how Marcus doing the same action to him years ago. (Spiral)
