In December 2023, Saw XI was announced by Lionsgate Films, with a release date of September 27, 2024. Lionsgate also did not announce any details regarding who is involved with “Saw XI.” Kevin Greutert, who began with “Saw” as an editor before helming the sixth and seventh entries, said “There’s a version that picks up immediately where this one leaves off, but it’s way too early to tell,” discussing potential sequel plans on The Director’s Cut.

Josh Stolberg confirmed on social media that he and co-writer Pete Goldfinger, who both wrote Jigsaw, Spiral & Saw X will not return to pen the script for this new entry.[1]

Producer Oren Koules has stated the upcoming film will likely be a direct sequel to Saw X.[2]

As of February, it was revealed that Saw X director; Kevin Greutert would be returning to the director’s chair for the eleventh film.[1] In a post made by @SawSpace on Twitter, they shared two images. One image was of someone in a pig mask, the other was a Sleep Token Runes text. The text was later translated to reveal that the writers of Saw IV, V, VI, & VII, Patrick Melton & Marcus Dunstan are returning to provide the script for Saw XI.

In that same post provided by the SawSpace user, they labeled the post as March followed by a scene clipper emoji, confirming filming will start in March.

In April 2024, Lionsgate announced that the release date would be delayed to September 26, 2025. [1]
