The Radiation Trap is a trap from the Saw franchise, appearing in Saw X.
Design and Function[]
The trap consists of an linear accelerator (also known as an x-ray machine), that will slowly heat the victim, who is suspended in the air in front of it by their left wrist and right ankle. The victim has to grab a mallet suspended close to them, to use to break the mentioned bones. If the victim doesn't break them, they will be burned to death by the accelerator. This is likely the same machine used in the con artist's operating room, and has been modified to remove the safety parameters that are regularly in place to prevent harm.

The victim of this trap was Gabriela, a recovering drug addict who was one of the scammers working with Cecilia Pederson in defrauding John and other 33 patients in need of medical treatment. She was captured back to the chemical plant where the false surgery was held along with Cecilia and fellow associates Valentina and Mateo. After the latter two are killed from their respective traps, Gabriela sees a tape recorder around the neck of the Billy puppet that received Mateo's test before he died. Gabriela is hesitant, but Cecilia convinces her to take it. Gabriela pulls the player when the sound of a mechanism for her trap activates, startling her. She played the recorder but frantically stopped the tape before it could gave her instructions, still frightened to participate. Using the intercom speaker from the office, John convinces her to take the test regardless. Afterwards, the vice drop the chain to Gabriela's wrist as it lifts her up in the air while being held by the second chain to her ankle in position to a covered machine, revealing to be a large infrared radiation lamp while John further explained the nature of her trap as the lamp activates to the first level around her. To free herself, Gabriela must use a mallet next to her and smash her wrist and ankle to release from her chains.
As Gabriela cries out, the lamp moves to the second level as she screams in pain from it's heat. With Cecilia's support, Gabriela slowly recovers and manage to grab the mallet that was hung next to her. She proceeds to break her wrist but Cecilia "encourages" her to start with her ankle, thinking she will be able to get away from the lamp. Taking her advice, Gabriela hits her foot with the mallet; stunning her from the pain as she smashes her foot repeatedly as the lamp increases further that severely scars her face before she continuously breaks her foot which releases her ankle chain as she was swerved out from the lamp, leaving her hanging from the chain to her wrist. Ultimately, the lamp redirects to Gabriela once again and increased to higher levels as she grunted from the pain. Gabriela regains herself and in her last ounce of her strength, breaks her wrist until she is finally released from her final chain as she falls and collapsed to the ground; exhausted and injured from her trap as the lamp turns off.
