R. Eric Lieb (born 1979) is a writer and editor best known for his work on 28 Days Later and The Callisto Protocol.

He was one of the writers of Saw: Rebirth.

Career[]

R. Eric Lieb graduated with a BA from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television in 2001. He previously held positions at Artisan Entertainment and Lionsgate, working on such films as The Punisher, Saw, Saw II, The Devil's Rejects, Hostel, and the Academy Award-winning Crash. While at Lionsgate, Lieb pioneered the motion comic trend by spearheading an animated version of the Saw: Rebirth comic book, for which he also wrote the story.

Later, Lieb became the Director of Development for Fox Atomic, a youth-market film studio. The studio's theatrical releases included I Love You, Jennifer's Body, Beth Cooper, and 28 Weeks Later. While working for Fox Atomic, Lieb created Fox Atomic Comics and became its Editor-in-chief, working with publishing partners HarperCollins and Boom! Studios.

Additionally, Lieb was a founding partner of Blacklight Transmedia alongside Zak Kadison, Mark Long, and Joanna Alexander. At Blacklight, Lieb focused on creating and developing film, television, comic books, video games, and new media franchises.
