The Marshvard Group is a fictional group in the Saw franchise, mentioned in Saw V.

The Fire

The Marshvard Group was a real estate development company. In order to get new properties for their buildings, the group often teared down old apartment buildings, thereby causing many people to lose their living spaces. On one occasion, Brit Stevenson, the group's senior vice president, hired a drug dealer to burn down an apartment building in order to get her hands on the property. Then, she bribed Luba Gibbs, who worked for the Department of City Planning, and thereby was granted a building permit for the property. However, as the apartment building had still been inhabited by eight people who all died in the fire, the FBI started to investigate the fire. Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez, two special agents working on the case, eventually suspected her. Therefore, they planned to bring a charge against Brit as well as four other suspects, including Luba. However, when the only witness, who was in fact the drug dealer, suddenly disappeared, the investigation was ceased. (Saw V, VI)

The Jigsaw Case

Due to her crime, Brit was eventually targeted by John Kramer, better known as the Jigsaw Killer. After his death, John's accomplice and eventual successor, Detective Mark Hoffman abducted her and took her to an underground catacomb area at 1293 Sandburst Drive along with four other people who were somehow involved in the arson case, including Luba Gibbs and Mallick, a drug addict who was actually the one who burned down the house. In the catacombs, they had to play a game designed by John Kramer prior to his death. In the end, only Brit and Mallick survived the game, albeit heavily injured. Shortly afterwards, they were found by Special Agent Dan Erickson, who called an ambulance for them. (Saw V)
