Mark Wilson is a fictional character from the Saw franchise. He is one of the unseen characters in the series.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Mark Wilson was an average young man in good health. However, he wrongfully claimed to be seriously sick, possibly to get rich at the expense of others and obtain money from his health insurance company, Umbrella Health, by fraud. At one point in his life, he became a patient at a free recovery clinic for drug addicts run by Dr. Jill Tuck. Due to his fraudulent lifestyle, he was ultimately targeted by John Kramer, better known as the Jigsaw Killer, who was, in fact, Jill's ex-husband. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Abduction[]

One day, Mark was kidnapped by John. After abducting him, John undressed him, slathered his body with self-made napalm, and trapped him inside a dark room with the only light source being a single candle. Furthermore, he injected him with a slow-acting poison and placed the only antidote inside a safe. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Death[]

When Mark woke up again, he found an audiotape left by John. Upon playing the recording, a distorted voice confronted him with his lies and questioned whether Mark was actually sick. Furthermore, Mark was informed about the poison and the antidote in the safe. To open it, Mark had to find the correct combination among hundreds of numbers written all over the walls.

Due to the darkness, he had to take the candle and walk to the walls to see the numbers. When walking around the room with the candle, Mark accidentally ignited the napalm, causing him to suffer a heart attack due to the thermal shock. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Post-Mortem[]

After Mark's death, John left a penlight, which he had previously stolen from the renowned oncologist Dr. Lawrence Gordon, at the crime scene before leaving. Shortly afterward, Mark's corpse was found by the Metropolitan Police Department. While investigating the crime scene, the detectives found the penlight and immediately sent it to the forensic lab. Furthermore, Detective David Tapp informed Chief Henry Jacobs about the audiotape, which implied that Mark had committed medical insurance fraud. Mark was a client of Umbrella Health, the same insurance company used by the police department. For that reason and because Tapp wanted to focus on investigating the murders, he left it to the chief to deal with the matter. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)
