Joshua Ernesto Okamoto Brambila (born July 17, 1995) is a Japanese-Mexican actor best known for his roles in VGLY, Control Z, Narcos: México, and the Saw franchise.
Early Life[]
Joshua Okamoto was born on July 17, 1995, in Saitama, Japan, to a Japanese father and Mexican mother, the actress Elizabeth Brambila. Okamoto was registered in the Mexican foreign service, thus obtaining Mexican nationality. Shortly after his birth, he and his family relocated to Mexico and settled in Guadalajara, Jalisco. When he grew up, Okamoto emigrated to the State of Mexico and settled in the city of Tlalnepantla de Baz, where he studied acting at the CasAzul Artes Escénicas Argos school.
Career[]
Okamoto worked under the direction of Alex Sánchez in the drama Sonriendo con el corazón in 2019. In 2021, he starred in the film Muerte al verano. He also appeared in the Netflix series Control Z as Gibrán. In 2023, Okamoto made his Hollywood debut as Diego in Saw X, the tenth installment of the Saw franchise.
