Inertia - The word defined my life. I'd somehow worked my way so far into a rut that I felt there was no way out. Or at least no way out that didn't require me to do something.
— John Kramer talks about his life.[src]

John Kramer's Apartment is a fictional location from the Saw franchise. It was a minor location in Saw: Rebirth.

Layout and Structure[]

The apartment occupied by John Kramer was a commodious flat in a dwelling house. Although it offered enough space, John contented himself with minimalistic furnishings. However, at one point, John adopted the identity of the Jigsaw Killer. Therefore, he turned parts of his flat into a workshop to develop and craft various deadly scenarios and mechanical death traps. John continued his life as usual for the following years until his physical condition worsened. When he went to a hospital, the oncologist Dr. Lawrence Gordon diagnosed him with a malignant tumor. Although it was not far advanced, John suffered from a particularly virulent strain of cancer. When telling him about his diagnosis, Gordon clarified that he was not expecting his patient to survive. Although the doctors urgently appealed to him to stay at the hospital for an undetermined time, John interrupted his treatment and returned home. (Saw: Rebirth)

John builds a trap.

Thoroughly depressed, John ultimately tried to end his life by driving his car off a cliff. Contrary to his expectations, he survived the crash. Severely injured, he crawled out of the wreck and realized that he had only learned to cherish his life when his death was imminent. Because of this, John chose to spend the remaining time of his life testing other people's will to live, hoping that this would convince them to value their lives and the lives of those around them. Therefore, John developed numerous potentially deadly scenarios and traps for his victims and turned his apartment into a workshop to test his mechanical devices. (Saw: Rebirth)
