Razor Wire Maze Flammable Jelly/Rebirth Reverse Bear Trap

The hours I didn't spend puking with my guts on fire were consumed by planning.

The Flammable Jelly is a trap from the Saw franchise, appearing in Saw: Rebirth.

Design and Function[]

This trap was set up in a dark room, only lightened by a small candle. The victim was completely naked and had a flammable jelly-like substance smeared on their body. Additionally, they were injected with a slow-acting poison. The antidote was locked in a safe in the middle of the room. To open it, the victim had to find the right combination among hundreds of numbers written all over the walls. Due to the darkness, they had to take the candle and walk to the walls to see the numbers. As an additional obstacle, the entire floor was covered in glass shards. (Saw: Rebirth)

History[]

John Kramer's Mission[]

The trap was designed by John Kramer, a toymaker who worked as a designer in the toy division of Standard Engineering Ltd. At one point, he went to a hospital and was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. During his stay at the clinic, he encountered numerous people, including Mark, a scam artist preying on the patients. Eventually, John chose to spend the remaining time of his life testing other people's will to live, hoping that this would convince them to value their lives and the lives of those around them. He selected his fellow patients to become his first test subjects and observed his future victims. While preparing everything for his mission, he designed the jelly trap to test Mark. (Saw: Rebirth)
