History[]

Moving in[]

After Tapp was returning home one day, he noticed his house was being invaded by an assailant from the police force, presumably due to Tapp collecting his personal files from the station after being discharged for initiating a raid on The Jigsaw Killer’s base of operations without a warrant and leading to his partner’s death. Upon discovering this, Tapp escaped from the premises unseen with his files in his car. Knowing that he’d have to remain quiet, he rented out this apartment which would be was across the room Sarah Blalok, a drug addict and police informant Tapp knew personally, resided in. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Solo Investigation & Observation of Dr. Gordon[]

After settling in his new living quarters, Tapp continued his single-party search for Jigsaw. He’d spend months in this apartment documenting his investigation and observing his suspects, one of which being Dr. Gordon, who (luckily for Tapp) lived right across from his apartment complex, almost easy for him to keep an eye on the doctor. Alongside this, Tapp hired a freelance photographer; Adam to follow him and take pictures whenever Gordon left his household. Tapp would collect the photos Adam would take and plastered them to his wall. One night, while observing the Gordon household, he heard gunfire coming from the residence. He rushed over to find Gordon’s wife and daughter in the clutches of an unknown assailant. The two escaped as Tapp gave chase to the crook. (Saw II: Flesh & Blood)

Tapp's suicide[]

Following his escape from Jigsaw's game at Whitehurst Insane Asylum, Tapp spent some time in his apartment dwelling over letting his obsession of Jigsaw go. Despite the media declaring him a hero for saving the victims from the asylum, Tapp committed suicide with a gunshot to the head, putting an end to his obsession, and his life. (Saw: The Video Game)

Investigation into Tapp's death[]

Some time after his death, his apartment was being thoroughly searched as a crime scene, investigated by Tapp’s former colleagues; Henry Jacobs, Joseph Poltzer, & Jennings Foster, the latter being one of the subjects Tapp saved from Whitehurst. Observing the investigation was Tapp’s son; Michael. Jacobs gave his condolences to Michael, Poltzer chastised him, saying he should’ve followed in his father’s footsteps and became a cop. Foster promises Michael that he’ll find whatever he can that can aid The Jigsaw Investigation, making sure Tapp wouldn’t die in vain. On his way out, Michael ran into Sarah for a brief moment. Soon, everyone there (excluding Foster) would be abducted for a game that Michael would have to play. (Saw: The Video Game, Saw II: Flesh & Blood)
