— John talks to Hoffman about his sister[src]
Angelina Acomb was the loving sister of Mark Hoffman, a detective working for the Metropolitan Police Department. At one point, she was also the girlfriend of well-known lawyer Seth Baxter. However, he was also a criminal and was involved in a drug offense. Therefore, he was arrested but eventually released on probation. A bit more than a week later, he engaged in a domestic dispute with Angelina, who wanted to go to a farewell party of one of her colleagues without him. During their argument, Seth, who presumably was under the influence of drugs, attacked Angelina and slit her throat, killing her in the process. (Saw V)
Angelina was found soon afterwards by one of her colleagues, who had become worried of her as she didn't come to the party despite having talked about it all week. After the discovery of her corpse, her brother was informed about her death and immediately went to her apartment. When he arrived, he yelled at his colleagues who initially wanted to prevent him from entering the apartment. Upon seeing the dead body of his sister, he suffered a breakdown and started to cry. (Saw V)
Seth, who had fled the scene after the murder, was apprehended two days later and was eventually sentenced to life in prison. Meanwhile, Mark had organized Angelina's funeral, during which members of the press were present as well and reported her tragic fate to the public. However, he was never able to get over her death and began to suffer from severe depressions. (Saw V)
Angelina's death was mentioned by one of Mark's colleagues, Detective David Tapp, in a case file in the video game Saw II: Flesh & Blood, shortly after the humiliated corpse of Seth Baxter had been found.
Angelina had a strong emotional bond with her brother, Mark, who she loved deeply. Based on the information given about her, it can be assumed that she was a very kind and friendly person, who was full of the joys of life and was therefore well-liked by the people around her.
